The game features a total of three levels consisting of several chapters. Each of them challenges you to collect all shards of the soul scattered throughout a dark labyrinth. So, the first level invites you to a hotel, but nobody will greet you there with a smile – except a horde of red-eyed monkeys armed with machetes. They will hunt you all over the place attacking you not only inside the labyrinth, but also in the elevator. You should do your business as fast as you can avoiding the three ape killers roaming the corridors somewhere nearby and plunge into the escape portal as soon as you get hold of all the soul shards.

More monsters, more dangers!

The second level is a school campus. Aside from monkeys wielding butcher knives, here you have to watch out for Agatha – a scary similarity of a girl with huge, black and absolutely empty eyes, wide smile with rotten teeth and dark marks on her cheeks. Her hands end with black palms and sharp claws. A creepy vision. There are several tricks you can use against Agatha – finding the red shard that will show her and the yellow ball that will deafen her. Acceleration will help you run away from her and destroy the red barriers. Luckily, Agatha will only pursue you if she notices you. Once you get out of her sight field, she’ll drop the thing and get back to blindly roaming the location.

Finally, the third level will take you to a posh mansion guarded by the so-called golden observers. You have to get past them using a super ability – teleportation. Aside from that, the hero also has telepathy that he can resort to when he has to read into the minds of his enemies. This level is considered to be the most difficult because aside from monsters pursuing you it also has traps you have to avoid. Generally, Dark Deception is a decent, well-made horror that will creep you out not only with its atmosphere and unexpected monster appearances, but also with an intriguing storyline and complicated interaction between the characters.
